On April 24th, all faculty and staff of the School of Automation visited Xiaochang County, located on the north of Wuhan City, with a distance of two hours’ drive, experiencing the new rural landscape.
They visited places including the “dream garden” of Zhouxiang Town, the “ten-mile nursery stock” of Xinlong Village, the “seven fairies blush” peach plant base, the Guanshuang tourist highway--2019 Annual National Beautiful Country Road, Tiantang Village, the Memorial Hall of General Zhen Liu, Yunhe Ecological Garden and Xingang Village.
In the rain, the faculty placed a wreath in front of General Zhen Liu’ bronze statue, and visited the Memorial Hall, to commemorate General Liu’s heroism and his contributions to the victory.
In the Yunhe Ecological Garden, secretary general Zhongwen Hu briefed about major local businesses, featuring an industrial chain including seedling planting, fruit produce and sale, recreational fishing, local diet catering and agricultural technologies training.
In Xingang Village, secretary general Wuqing Hu introduced the environment improvement measures, the civilized and harmonious customs, and industries with local advantages, which help the villagers to achieve prosperity. He said that all the elderly 70 years old and above without a family could enjoy free meals at Happiness Canteen. The expenditure is from villagers’ donations and collective funds. The people-centered development concept has elevated the administrative service and rural governance, thus promoting villagers’ sense of fulfillment and happiness.
This visit presented the great achievements of the poverty alleviation policy and exhibited real basis for people to strengthen “the Four Matters of Confidence: the confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.”
