On May 4th, People’s Daily released the list of representative students of 2019-2020 National Merit Scholarship for Undergraduates. After rigorous selection and review processes, altogether 60,000 outstanding undergraduate students have been awarded the Scholarship, among whom only 100 students were listed in the representative directory. Mr. Shuai Ke from the School of Automation is the only one of China University of Geosciences awarded this honor.
Mr. Shuai Ke, Class of 2021, majors in Automation. He has been awarded the Good Youth of Hubei Province, a high-ranking provincial honor. Mr. Ke has been the president of Jurassic Electronic Manufacture Association, president of the 12th Class of Li Siguang Program. He has been awarded Outstanding Student Role Models, Top Ten Student Organization Presidents, Outstanding Communist Youth League Members and Outstanding Student Leadership.
Mr. Ke has won the First Prize of the 13th Nationwide College Student Smart Car Competition, been authorized 10 national patents and 6 utility model patents. Authoritative media like the Xinhua News Agency, China News and Shanghai Television have reported his stories of science and technology innovations.
It is the sincere hope of all that students from the School of Automation and the university will follow the example of Mr. Shuai Ke, study hard, shoulder responsibilities and strive to be a better person, making contributions to China, to the Chinese people and to the whole human being.
